Spectra / Astro spectra control head

Can anyone tell me if a HLN6337D control head from a analog spectra will work on a astro spectra - or if it has to be HLN6396?
The only head that will transfer from a Spectra to Astro Spectra is the A9 and that is only if it is an SMD style control head and the firmware chip is replaced with W9 firmware. Anything else and you are out of luck.
