I have acquired a complete Motorola VHF repeater cabinet : the name plate on the side shows:
Model: C73MHB 1190B
TX type: CC3060
S/N: LA1189
Power: 120 VAC

I would like to obtain any manuals for this system, esp. tech. or repair or maintenance items. I am an
electronics technician by trade & still love the "hollow state" devices .... which this unit supposedly has.
I still have not got the back door off since it did not come w/ the original keys.

It has been a long time, but it may be an old Motorola Motrac or Micor base. Got to the Batlabs.com site and select the equipment, then find the models and start doing some reading.

OK, doing this from memory so consider it "ballpark" information.

VHF (high band)Motrac base
C = consolette (3 to 4 ft.) cabinet
73 = mid power, probably 60 to 100 watts
MHB = "M" series receiver, last one made, I think 8 Mc. hi IF, IMO an excellent receiver, even by today's standards
"H" series transmitter, partial tube, usually driver and output, probably 7854 (5894 derivative) final
"B" base station, AC power
1190 + carrier squelch (3xxx would be PL)
90, don't remember what that represents

This should get you in the ballpark; info. not guaranteed but probably not too far off (if I'm wrong, you get what you paid for it back).

Oh, forgot, probably a 2135 key, these are very common and should be easy to find.

I agree, it's a 100watt VHF base station, no PL. If I remember correctly. repeaters ended in "Y" for the middle letters, "B is for Base station. Don S

The final tube is 8643.

Reference List says the manual is:

68-81005E90B C53/63/73 MHB-1000B, 1100B, 1140B, 1190B

60/90/110W, 117 VAC, Carrier Squelch, Local/Extended Local

You guys got everything correct... but forgot to mention that the Compa Station has crystals in the channel elements.

Very fine radio, excellent receiver.

These were made up into the mid '70 s. And yes, I worked on many of them.

The MOT 2135 key is the correct one for CompaStation cabinets.

The 2135 was usually for mobile radios, the base stations usually took a 2252 key.

There's a seller on ebay: Carol's Manuals. She has tons of vintage manuals. Give her the station model number and she will look it up and see if she's got what you need. I have a C71LHB-3100 station and she had THE EXACT MANUAL for it, with all the accessories and options. If you look for "motorola motrac" chances are you'll find lots of manuals being sold by her. Fire off an e-mail and inquire. She definitely goes out of her way to please you.
