XTL2500 Intermittent FlashZap BootLoader

I have an XTL2500 single piece mobile that started going into FlashZap intermittently. When you power the radio up it is a gamble as to whether it will start or jump right into the bootloader screen. Has anyone experienced this before? Is there a fix I can do in my shop without sending it off to the depot? I have a jpg of the screen that we are seeing but dont know how to post it to the forum. I can email the pic if needed.
Display is as follows:
FlashZap Bootloader
version R05.10.00
Intel W18-B 8MB
Remote Entry
Remote Operation
Ready to Download
There is also the Motorola Batwing logo on the right of the screen.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hrm... I'm guessing you have a control head issue. Flashzap mode can be manually forced by holding down a couple of buttons on the control head and powering up the radio. If the radio thinks these buttons are pressed, it'll force FlashZap mode.
Based on your username, you sound like a public safety agency... In the interest of safety, I'd send this unit back to the depot and let them straighten it out.
Or try another control head with it and see what that does.

Especially if you're public safety agency. You know how many times I've seen a control head come into the shop with coffee all over the head.... Especially if the officers like their coffee with cream and sugar!
Possibly the right combo of sticky buttons causing intermittant issues.

I appreciate the replies and will be putting the radio on the bus to the depot. You were correct about public safety and the fact that there is no apparent evidence of spills only means they are getting good at cleaning up!! Thanks again guys.
