Hi, crazy question here:
I have a Motorola XTS5000, does anyone know how to program either Phoenix or MCSO to Monitor ONLY?
I have so many extra channels, I would like to program it to be able to monitor the systems. Any ideas? I'm really only familiar with conventional programming,
Thanks!!

Yep it would be much easier to program it to TX. Motorola 9600 baud trunked radios must affiliate to the system in order to receive.

Yes it's possible but don't try it as it is annoying to use as a scanner and not really a good radio for scanning multiple systems.

It's a PITA to setup and program and your limited to what you can scan and hear plus some other annoyances such as not really easy to setup with 700 MHz control channels.

Also with an XTS you can only scan one system/agency at a time, you would have to choose either Phx Pd's P25 system or MCSO's old legacy P16 analog/digital system but not both even though they will soon be going to P25.

If you wanted to listen to MCSO while first scanning PHX P25 then you would have to change systems manually.

Been there done it and now using Uniden scanners as I can scan multiple agencies at the same time which is something that the XTS cannot do.
