Keep in mind, that if this mod. radio is read by ANY other RSS software other then the one YOU have modified, ...POOF!! your radio will read to "them" as a 2 channel only. :oops:

Keep a back-up of your software in a safe place. At the very least, print off the page that details how to do the mod ...

As most have stated here... I would stay away from the SP50. I work part time as a Paramedic at Canwest Global Park (baseball) during the summer and they use SP50's. This "might" help... If the radios have been hacked, try getting ahold of Tool Kit (mentioned on BatLabs, but you will have to find it on your own). I've used it and have been able to convert many P110 (4 and 6 channels) to 16 Channel. This was needed in order to gain the scan feature. :wink:

I purchased one of these about 4 months ago and it's an all-in-one type unit. :D With this you don't need anything else (except a computer and the RSS software of course :wink: ) and the price is not bad.

Well, lets see... The Minitor II goes for about $100.00 to $140.00US on ebay, the Minitor III tends to go for around $250.00 to $300.00 US ...

So my guess is that the Minitor IV should go for approx. $800.00US :wink: ... or more. :roll:

May make more sense to buy a GP300 with QCII. At least you ...

I am using Windows 2000 (Ver 5.00.2195) SP1 on one computer and Windows XP Pro (build 2600) and have had no problems with ver 3.1 on any of the systems that I have had it on (I prefer the XP based system). A friend of mine also had it running on NT (SP6?) with no problems as well.

Well, If the only option that you are left with is the FRS radios (gag!!), and if the convoy is spread out over 1 to 2 mile distance, they may work. If the car in the front is trying to reach the car in the rear, you may have to have the car in the middle relay the message...

That's not a bad idea... I am getting tired of finding a good used /\/\ hand held (like a GP300) and people on eBay (usually a new commer) getting a real bad case of "bidding fever"!! :evil: The net result is over inflated prices.

Problem solved!!

The guy I bought it from on eBay exchanged the mike and the one he sent me for one that does work.

It turns out that the "original" mike he sent me is worth more then $400.00 CDN! I hope he will get more then the $50.00 US I paid for it!!!! :wink:

I just completted a "out of band" mod on a friends SM120 VHF (150-170) and lowered it into the 140 range and he reports that it works just fine.

It was a PAIN trying to get the checksum to match back up again (it took about an hour worth of tinkering).

This radio looks just like a SP50 just the front plate says SP50+, its about 1/4 smaller (but identical in all other respects).

The model number is P94YQS20GAA. The radio is a 10 Ch. UHF and other then the fact it looks like a shrunk down version of an SP50, its the same ...
