Sorry for taking so long to reply. Yes, that is the setup that I'm using. Yes, I've been able to change the order of the buttons and remap them appropriately. No, I haven't tried to assign anything other than siren functions to the DEK buttons.

I think you'll find that if you connect the SVA to an antenna outside the vehicle, your reception will improve dramatically. Given the mounting location of most portable adapters, it will likely get the antenna location higher. It will also get the antenna outside the steel box that is your vehicle.

Does anyone know the differences between the 1185 and the 1439 sirens? I know the 1439 plays with the W3 config, but what else is there?

Nope. Syntor X9000 and the Spectra line are the only Moto mobiles capable of (different flavors of) this type of operation.

This is only one of the few areas where I prefer Kenwood or Vertex over Motorola.
