Fans run 24/7 is there a fix to this. I thought they only come on when the PA gets warm. I shut the station down and turn it back on and the fans do the same thing. Pa in not warm not sure what to do.

Found it!!!!! while doing my wiring I by mistake removed a wire leading to the 800 XTL5000 radio, I have 3 5000's in my Tundra. and it would had been the hot wire from the control head. Heads programmed 1 and 2 and so in the soft ware. Every wire from the main radio and from the control heads is going to a Blue Seas fuse block which is powered only when the ignition is on. Everything should be dead no power at all when the ignition is off, confirmed with a volt meter.

I have a control head coming in today on a 380-470 radio that is set up for dual head operation. I should be able to just use a head off of that radio and check it out. Any one have a picture of the fuses on the head inside so I know what I am looking for.

Starting to lean towards a control head problem. I know the second head worked but now it shows no sign of life. I even plugged the radio into the second head buy itself and it is not powering on. So we will see as this saga continues for the quest of a dual head radio.

Ok one cap came off the other did not, even with a impact screw driver. So I drilled that one out and remade the cable ends with Amphenol N connectors. How do I get pictures to load!

I thought of that, I just might have to do that since the maker of the connector is no help to the little guys. Can not believe they will not sell just 2 connectors. I tried their dealers they sell to and they are out of stock.

No I have not. I did call Delta and they offered to sell me 500ea min order. How nice of them. Kinda sucks they can not just sell 2 or 3 of them. Thought that was on the greedy side. But still looking.

Yes I did, I did the buttons the same as it is listed on the dek unit itself. Not really interested in the siren so to speak but just want the Air horn, Pa and Xradio to work. I do not even get the dek's night lights to light up when the radio is turned on.

Then I would guess the users habbits and location even if use as a scanner. having just taken system administrator workshop class, it is VERY interesting to understand how it all comes together.
