I know the one I have is crystal controled. From what I found it is basicly an EXPO radio inside, so a crystal for and EXPO should work.

Where is your antenna in relation to your radio? We had problems with RF back feeding into the control head and cable on High power XTLs. Most of the time I have seen this problem with glass mount antennas in close relation to the radio.

Tom,
We use stander BASCH relays from tessco. We have not had to use diods on the siren deks with out any problems. Any 12VDC relay should work.

Re: UHF Astro Spectra IMBE on Ham

Dose anyone have a part number for a R2 RF board for an astro spectra? I built an AS out of a 450-482 spectra and a "Q" split AS. It works find in both annalog and digital but under 450mhz the radio comes up with "FAIL 001". I was thinking of putting a R2 board in it to see if that will fix it.

The problem I have is the other VHF radio I have is a W5 model with the most basic flashcode you can get. I do have a spair VOCON from an 800MHZ AS but I'm not sure what I would have to do to make it work in the radio. Also, the 145E flashcode, is this the one that has bugs in it?

Re: converting an Astro Spectra to an Astro Spectra Plus

If you do get an XMO board, make sure after you convert your radio you take it for a firmware uplift as they come with like R4, DSP4, and they can go up to Host/DSP9 and you'll want that for rebanding stuff if you're using 800Mhz.
Is the uplift something I have to order from big M?
