I have a D43KXA7JA5BK
Dash, 45W, VHF High, K?, SecureNet, A, Conventional , J, Conventional , 5,B,K
that I would like to turn into a Trunking&SmartNet radio.
I have tried taking a UHF Trunking, SmartNet codeplug and changing the band split to VHF and forcing that into the VHF radio and it works on ...

converting A5 spectra to SmartZone
I have a D43KXA7JA5BK and want to use it to monitor a SmartZone site (only one site-analog talkgroups).
I've followed the steps I can find online re converting conventional radios to trunking ones but I'm still not having success.
I currently have a FAIL 001 error while on a trunking mode. If I ...

Thanks for the RSS mod tips on increasing scan list size to 15+1. A 50% improvment is great.
What I'm wondering now is has anyone ever thought of modifying the firmware (I'm assuming that is legal since it seems ok to mod RSS?). What I was thinking of trying to do is use two or more scan lists that ...

Possible to make scan list bigger?
I know that RSS only supports 10 talkgroups so RSS would be useless in programming the scan list. But I wonder if it is possible to make the scan lists longer? Can the radios code be modified to do this? Is that a feasible thing to do? Has anyone tried?

Add features to Astro Spectra possible?
Is it possible to add a feature that would display the site ID and the RSSI of that site while any Talkgroups are active in a SmartZone system?
Can the EEPROMs be changed to do this? Has anyone on here disassembled the relative code? Is there space in the EEPROM to add a feature?

I'm probably wrong about the system being APCO25 then. I know it's a 3600 baud control channel. But your explanation makes sense that I get a 'out of rnge' error since the radio wouldn't be able to 'listen' to a 9600 CC. So now I believe that I should be leaving the system type to II/IIi. After all ...

Can someone send me any old codeplug for an astro spectra?
I'm waiting for a RIB to arrive but in the mean time I'd like to explore RSS. Can anyone please email me a codeplug? I'm assuming they are of a smallish file size?
I have an Astro Spectra but just about any codeplug would probably allow me to get my feet wet.
Thank You.

Motorola option decoder location?
I know...it's should be easily found online...but I can't seem to find it...even thought I've seen it before.
I know there is a website that helps people decode all the options in motorola radios.
Can someone please post a URL.
This is what I want to decode: T04JKH9PW9AN
Thank you.
