It should be the sync bits then nine bits for the talkgroup. Yes, a talkgroup is ten bits but Moto decided to drop one for efficiency or whatever so the LSB is assumed to be '1'. If it was inhibited via a trunked system it makes finding where the radio came from a lot easier since one can (hopefully) look up the system ID on RadioReference or other identifiable info. I'm not sure how helpful Motorola is in these situations.

The cable is just straight from the adaptor that connects to the radio. Nothing on the cable line itself. There's a DS2433 chip inside the accessory connector. In a sense it is sent out. You'll see the system "poll" the radio and when no affiliation occurs it's assumed the subscriber radio has left the system.

I have a Moto XTS-ASTRO25 cable and pin 4 doesn't exist. No other pins send a voltage when plugged in to a computer.

The second receiver slot is only for expanding the receivable range of the unit. Basically you are combining the ranges of the two modules to make a larger range (ie, 136-174 versus 150-174). You cannot do anything custom with it like you want to. It doesn't work that way.

Not all controllers will accept the IIi "commands" the radio sends. That's why there's a TX issue. You can piggy-back on the voice channel though.
And the MCS2000 will do vanilla Type I trunking. I have an 800 that does it.
