Ooops. Forgot to mention that. With speaker mics they are fine. I'm guessing the little PTT "popple" is bad, but I just find it strange that at least 4 out of 7 are doing it.

If I can get the powers to be to go for it, thats what we'll probably do. I could just make a device to emit a steady tone, and run a cable from the closet with the bogen in it, straight up the vent shaft to the repeater.

Thanks Bill, I figured that is what I'd have to do. Will: The phone system is on our first floor, in an old ventilation shaft/closet, almost directly below the 4th floor ventilation penthouse, where the repeater is located. No control station near the phone system currently The repeater is a GR1225.

When you insert the pager, and read it from the software it will show you the current programming. You can copy everything down from there. The data wont change, unless you change it.

I would program up a CDM 750 to trigger it off the alert pin on the radio. Run the trigger output to an OMROM adjustable timer that is set to latch for 3 cycles. UHF astro saber, and an Astro Vehicular Adapter. You can still use your saber, as long as its serial number falls in the correct range to use in the AVA, and then you have your UHF P25 Astro Saber.

Thanks everyone. We were able to get a paging encoder that can do this from a buddy of mine's department out of town. It didnt play back the whole call, just the tones, and that's all we need. They recently went from low band to VHF, so they just gave it to us. Thanks for all the help.

HT coverage of the dispatch repeater is OK in the station, but if all you have is your pager, its spotty, especially if you're upstairs in the day room or in the restroom downstairs, and if you're in the office, you wont hear anything, even on an HT. I got a VHF XPR6550, R01.08.00. Impress battery. Sometimes, It'll start beeping at me for a low battery alarm, and 0% remaining, even when its just been charged.
