Heartland has been the OEM source for parts and service for Panasonic computers for at least a decade. As of the beginning of the year, they are now wholly-owned by Panasonic itself. The staff hasn't changed, and their turnaround time for repairs is still excellent.

Everything is narrow band now, so unless it's a MURS channel, or something that isn't in the narrowband mandate, assume that it is a 2.5kHz deviation channel.

Your other alternative is to let one of the many of us that has the right software and hardware program it for you. Many of us will do it fairly cheaply, especially if you're just programming in hammy channels, or it's a "model 1" without a display or keypad.

You might get it to play nice down to 138, but not much lower than that. Besides, you won't hear aircraft stuff with an FM radio. Everything between 108 and 138 is all AM.

Sounds like you need to swap the low-split radios for some high-split radios. Unless you really need the LB-UHF stuff, you should have picked up the high-split radios in the first place.

By any chance is the EEPROM in this radio a large black block about 1/4 to 3/8 inch high? If so, I would suspect that you have one of the old program IC units that had an internal battery and it has died. Is this a PLL out of lock condition? The codeplug that was in it was 100% legit for the radio and model, with nothing odd. The jumpers are all set correctly for the programming, and I can't find anything physically wrong with the radio.

If you've got skillz, you can easily replace the tiny LEDs that are on the board. They sell them on eBay all day long. If you feel funky, you can replace them all with a different color, such as blue, red, or white (or all three).
