Seconded on the IF crystal. I've fixed quite a few Maxtracs that were deaf as a post until the crystal was changed.

Also make sure you don't accidentally have a PL/DPL attached to your modes.

As far as I know, Astro Sabers do not require the retainers. Their knobs are built solid, with metal locking inserts that fit on the much smaller shafts.

Why Moto ever thought the system on the original Sabers with the retainers, and paper-thin knob sleeves was a good idea is beyond me.

Thanks for the info. Rather than modify the shell on the programmer, I just swapped it out with the spare IntelliCharge. Probably took more time to find and excavate the parts than to make the swap. It's all working just fine now.
