I wonder if the console port is set up full duplex instead of half duplex; causing the echo to be heard by the console... M4X is a good unit but the softwares a bit screwy.

9100 needs to have the analog interface SFE key enabled; once that's enabled you need to define the tone function table. Your voice peaks should be somewhere close to the -10 mark if that's what your going with. You can use the diag section to monitor the analog line input levels quickly and ...

There is a company that makes "license plate antennas" which will suit your needs, they're relatively broad-banded and are available in dual band configurations. This is caused by RF getting into either the ABS unit or the PCM; neither situation is good.
