I agree that he may or may not be "all there".

VHFRADIO was attempting to buy a 800 Astro Smartzone radio. The only agency in CT that uses such a beast is the State Police. Run his name through the Batlabs search for all his posts. It may raise an eye.

They did use MODAT, but they have since switched to Astro Digital, so its not used anymore. They may be running a couple non-astro channels that may still have it.

You could always try using a VRS. There are a few that have been popping up on Ebay lately. I am unsure if the dual radio supports the option.

I can't be 100% sure with the XTS's, but all other radios that I am aware of that are cloneable must have the same feature set (FLASHCODE) and model number. Only then will the RSS allow it. I know that this is true up to V8 Astro RSS.

Right now the antenna is mounted on the opposite side of the house then the electrical service (underground). I believe the wire is alumin...or whatever radio shack sells. The wire is "hooked" into a hole and the top antenna, and I don't believe it clears the roofline of the house, and is ...
