CDM1550 Paging hot button?
Is it possible to wire in some sort of button using the accessory connector that would send QCII tones when you press it, rather than going through the menu options?

Re: MDC-1200 Decoding/Encoding Application
I can't seem to get this to work. I've just installed .NET 4, and MDCTool immediately crashes with a generic error. Any ideas? I'm on XP.

Re: CDM1250 receive issue after adding MDC ID on TX
It appears your issues is with MDC MUTE timing. Look at the UNMUTE timing, it is probably programmed for longer duration than necessary. Most times, 325mS is adequate to eliminate the MDC data burst on RX unsquelch, but your settings may be programmed for more time than required to eliminate the no...

Re: CDM1250 receive issue after adding MDC ID on TX
I have, because I've programmed the aliases for each unit on the system. This was one if the reasons for enabling MDC- allowing the mobile units to identify the transmitting unit.

CDM1250 receive issue after adding MDC ID on TX
So at the request of the local fire chief and my boss, I added in transmit IDs on the fire trucks and ambulances as well as the portables. All has gone well, except on the two ambulance's CDM1250s. Upon releasing the PTT, if the dispatcher answers the unit immediately, no audio comes across although...

Re: EFJ and Motorola - System Interop Question
Ah, the good old politics raises it's smelly management head again. Poor radio operator training, poor operating practices, probably no standard operating procedures, probably no MOU in place and poor management. You've hit the nail on the head on all of these. Other than the radios may have the ch...

Re: EFJ and Motorola - System Interop Question
There are many 800MHz analog interoperability channels to choose from. I haven't seen an 800MHz radio yet that won't do analog. Cheap, easy and reliable, therefore they likely won't do that. Haha, exactly... both counties have the National Interop I-band frequencies in their radios, but don't want ...

Re: EFJ and Motorola - System Interop Question
The department only has one EFJ 5300. The county with the Motorola system refuses to allow any radios but Motorola on their system.

EFJ and Motorola - System Interop Question
OK, please don't shoot me here... I know this is a tough question. The scenario: a fire department and EMS operate on the border of two counties, one with an 800Mhz digital Moto P25 (their home system), and the other county has an 800Mhz EF Johnson Multi-Net system. They'd like to be able to set up ...

Re: APX7000 VHF/UHF?
Ah, awesome, thank you!
One other question: can you scan both bands concurrently, or can you only use one at a time? The only one I've ever used was a VHF/800, and you could only use one band at a time.

APX7000 VHF/UHF?
I'm trying to confirm for a friend, does Motorola manufacture an APX7000 in the VHF/UHF dual band configuration?
Thanks.
Thanks.
