It rounds to 1049.3 on this radio. Still it does not work (Maxtrac decodes fine). I think it may need the "Radius Advantage Options Board". But it does let me program the tones. Oh, well.

The 44.645 xtal is the one that often goes bad from corrosion and makes the receiver go away. You can Transmit near it with a HT on that freq and the receiver comes to life! I believe they had a bad batch of xtals that were soldered with corrosive solder or something. Maxtracs, Radius etc.

Yes, you need 5.34 FW. The radius chip has the 16ch limitation. Unknown on the missing segment, but it will probably fix that too.

That worked..... except when scanning the radio seems to require carrier and PL and it is too tight. I do have "Carrier Detect Required" "Disabled in the scan options.

Yes, you loose 851.xxx
It will be broad, but the filters are rather broad anyway, just not enough to go down to 806.
You will be protected by your duplexer, no? If only a notch duplexer, you should at least add a bandpass cavity to the rx.

Do the mods for 902rx, then program your 806.xxx freq PLUS double the IF (45.1 x2 = 90.2 if I remember correctly??).
Remove and jumper the filters too....

My Polaris PA-1 is fine for programming, but when I use the TUNER to align the radio, THAT is when I have problems. So I would like sucess stories with the Tuner specifically. (when tuning, the radio resets a lot and the settings don't "take" and I have to try again) Thanks!

labmax 5.3 works fine for out of band down to 31 megs on a 42.50 unit.
Just hit F2 to continue when you get the error screen.
You will probably have to adjust the VCO, and it may not go down that far.

Was there special Maxtrac RSS for the data radios with firmware;
FVN4042C MOSCAD SMART V71.205
If so, what was it called??
I cannot read it with trunking, labtrunking, or Maxtrac LS.
Reading it with labmax conventional, it gets to the end of reading 64 blocks, then errors out.

We are installing a bunch of Moto Trbo XPR 4300 mobile radios.
They have a talkaround channel programmed that is not on their license.
I cannot get a freq counter or a Signal Stalker (near-field) receiver to lock onto it!!
Any tricks to do this with "normal" equipment??

I believe you can do it on the M1225.
In radio wide, once you select one of the buttons as talkaround, check the "talkaround CSQ" box.

What do you mean it is wrong?
One usually uses the serial # on the sticker as the serial number.

You can read the radio with a computer to see what it says.
You can blank and initialize the radio and set things to match.
