IS and IP ratings are not the same. Tabs? On an HT1000? I used to sell the :o and we serviced it. Unless the new radios have something on them, there were no tabs.

That is untrue. IS ratings are the equivalent of buying insurance. It's a sticker on the radio. Properly swapping parts 1 for 1 does not nullify its IS rating. Doing it wrong can.

Re: Using a radio to open bay door at fire dept

I used a CDM radio years ago for a temporary solution. I wired it to the control buttons inside the garage. I've heard there might be some requirements for grants for this type of thing. You might want to check up on the grant requirements before you buy anything. I had an acquaintance tell me about a CERT radio grant issue related to this.

Anyone in St. Louis MO area with an iMPRES Field Programmer?

I have the firmware for 3.4, but I don't have an iPF. Anyone in the area got one? I need to upgrade my charger, but would like to also do all of our chargers at Eureka FD.

PM me if you can help me out.

Thanks!

we always used Testor model paint, then wiped with a rag with some lighter fluid -- or we occasionally used jif action.

a q-tip with some jif action was good for some tough areas where the paint was deep in the textured plastic.
