Where/how to get latest firmware for XPR8300
I am so sorry to have to post this stupid question, but I have been beating my head against the wall on this for a couple of days. I guess I'm getting senile. Anyway, I would like to upgrade my XPR8300 to the latest firmware. I'm not trying to get it illegally or for free. I am trying to figure out ...

Re: MOF230 handheld scanning programming
Well, if it’s a defective radio then I have two of them that are defective in the same way.
I guess I’ll just throw them away. Thanks.

Still no solution here. I am surprised that of all the Motorola wisdom and experts on the batboard, no one has any ideas about this.

I just had another thought. If you’ve ever programmed one and got it to work, do you by chance have a codeplug saved on a hard drive somewhere that you could send me?

MOF230 handheld scanning programming
After many years of watching eBay, I finally acquired a MOF230 handheld from qoromu in Indonesia. The radio looks like new and works perfectly, as checked on my service monitor. Qoromu also provided me with a copy of the appropriate Wookie, and I have had no trouble programming the unit with one exc...

Is anybody willing to convert an HT1250LS+ to the 220 ham band for me if I ship it to them? I am willing to pay. Please let me know how much.
Thanks.

Dayton Hamvention P25 repeater
Just in case anyone is coming to the Dayton Hamvention for 2013, there is a P25 repeater on 443.600 that serves the Dayton area. It passes any NAC. Feel free to use it if you are so inclined. It is my personal repeater.
I am using NAC 532 if you wish to call me.
Enjoy.

Re: DES MSF5000 winks off and back on once per second
You are correct. Looking again, the "Rx Lock" and "Tx Lock" lights are staying on. Just the others are winking off. My mistake. I have determined additional information. I have been saying that the system winks "about once each second." I turns out that it is the length...

Re: DES MSF5000 winks off and back on once per second
After further testing, I have become convinced that the problem is the programming of three parameters in the RSS. In "Mode Information: the three parameters are "Receiver Control", "Repeater Activate", and "Repeater Holdin". This repeater is intended to be PL, and...

DES MSF5000 winks off and back on once per second
I have an MSF5000 repeater that I am trying to get to work in DES (not DES-XL) mode. It is set to repeat encrypted signals. It works fine except that while repeating, the transmitter winks off and then comes back on about once each second. I have confirmed that it is the repeater doing this and not ...

Thanks for responding. The VCO's are both tuned to 38µA using the factory test set, so that's not it. I'll take a look at the caps.

MSF5000 UHF E49 but RX Lock light is on
I am troubleshooting a UHF MSF5000 At the boot the RX Lock light is not on, but after flagging an E49 error in the display, the light comes on. When the ID runs, it is preceded by two beeps. In spite of all this, the receiver works normally and has normal sensitivity. I have tried resetting/restarti...

MCS2000 will not keyload
This UHF 110 watt conventional MCS2000 will not accept a key. I have tried a couple of known-good encryption boards. Currently installed known-good board is HLN6576C, which is DES-XL. KVL is a T3011DX, known-good and tested. Using a brand-new Motorola TKN9152A KVL cable. Suggestions? Thanks. David

Anyone ever hear of a mid-band MX-300? I wasn't aware that MX's were ever made on any bands other than VHF high and UHF.
Any thoughts on this subject will be welcome.

I just purchased a 110 watt VHF Astro Spectra with a W5 head. Some of the segments in the LED display are brighter than others. The same segments are always the dim or bright ones.
