Re: cp200D loud audio

If it just started recently and you haven't changed anything in CPS, then yes, I'd say the volume pot has failed. I see it all the time and have to replace them often in our fleet. Mostly on the older Radius CP200s but have seen it with newer d models as well (that were several years old). Try openi...

Re: Jedi Antenna Identification

It should be fine with your radio, as you've already observed. It's actually two antennas in one, UHF two way and GPS receive. The XPR6350s and 6550s have GPS receivers but needed the correct external antenna to function. Your radio will just ignore the GPS part.

That sounds exactly like the 430-470 MHz PMAE4023B antenna intended for the XPR6000 series portables. I thought they made one without GPS but I'm not seeing that variation.

I can confirm that as long as you install CPS 2 on a PC that already has older CPS with the wideband EID, then CPS 2 recognizes that and also allows 25 kHz programming.

That post is quite comprehensive but the legacy models have been discontinued for a while now. For amateur use, all models cover 403-512 MHz out of the box so no need to worry about out of band. For analog though, you'll need an Entitlement ID for the CPS to allow wideband (25 kHz). Otherwise, they ...

No need to go out of band for VHF as both radios you mention cover 136-174 MHz as is. For UHF, if you have the low split model (designated by an R in the model number) they cover 403-470. The high split models (designated by an S) can easily be programmed to work down to 440 by using the "Shift...

No, you add however many zones you want (up to the limit of course), name them and then assign the channels however you like. Have you tried adding more zones in the "Personality Assignment to Zone" window of the CPS tree? It's down at the bottom. Although you program channels in the Personality window, you must then assign them in the other window.

The closest I believe would be the "ignition sense auto power down timer" found on the accessories page. You can tell the radio to shutdown after a specific time once 12 V is no longer present on the ignition sense line. If set for 0, it powers down right away but it can go all the way up ...
