Re: Revision Numbers
Thank you. I was curious as to how these numbers were interpreted. I might use this system for some software I'm developing then.

Revision Numbers
This has been at the back of my mind for a few days now, but how does Motorola figure out what Revision number (ex: R01.02.03) to assign to a piece of software (either in a radio or on a pc)? What determines the number put in each block of numbers R##.##.##? Thanks to anyone who can satisfy my ...

Re: 6 Unit Charger issues
According to a brand new Fluke Meter the battery tests at 8.47 DC Volts.
It probably just needed it's overnight trickle charge. (Something I've been skipping lately)

Re: 6 Unit Charger issues
It's a brand new battery (third party about 3 weeks old) I'll have to use the fluke meter at work, but the battery will have been off teh charger for about an hour first. (Not used but not in the charger) I think it's a dual chem charger, but I'm not sure how to tell (what circuitry would I look at ...

6 Unit Charger issues
I bought a third party 6 unit charger from ebay member ptron1 and it's very nice, but I'm not sure if it charges Ni-MH batteries or not. The auction said it does, and it does hit a green light after an hour or 2 on my 2700 mAh Ni-MH but today the battery died rather quickly compared to its normal ...

Re: NTN4734A Charger behaving weird
Both are after market, and as it turns out if I pull out Batt B and put it back in (like I do with A) the same thing happens. I think the charger might be bad, but I'm not sure. Anyone know a way to fix this?

NTN4734A Charger behaving weird
Ok, I got this charger about a month ago with a battery and an Astro Saber. The battery it came with "Batt A" is a Ni-CD 1800 mAh. "Batt B" purchased online is a 2700mAh Ni-MH For about 2 weeks now I have been using the radio with Batt B and then leaving it in the charger over night. It usually hits ...

Re: BEWARE THE $25 KNOCK OFF PROGRAMMING CABLES FROM EBAY
Thanks. My good friend gatekeep keeps a copy of all my S-Records, and I think I have one around here somewhere as well. Looks like it's gonna be a fun day when the cable arrives to test it.

Re: BEWARE THE $25 KNOCK OFF PROGRAMMING CABLES FROM EBAY
I just bought a RIB required programming cable from panter88 for my Astro Saber. After seeing that eBay name on here I'm hoping the cable would be safe to use. Can anyone provide insight to this? I have the auction number if needed. Thanks

Re: A Good RSS Machine
I actually found another IBM in my house with XP Pro sitting on it. It has real serial ports, and it now dual boots XP Pro and FreeDOS. Everything works except my RIBless HT1250 programming cable, but that cable never worked right. Thanks for all the input.

Re: A Good RSS Machine
So based on your reply, I'm thinking the IBM will be for my Astro RSS using real serial ports and my laptop will be for CPS using the dongle. Good idea?

A Good RSS Machine
I'm trying to build a good RSS machine using existing hardware, and I wanted to get some input from everyone on whether or not this will be sufficient.
I am not asking for software, nor will I give it to anyone. Go buy it if you need it!
Ok here is what I can recall from the specs of the computer ...
