I did try to figure out the pinouts, I recall making an excel sheet at the time however I cannot find it. I shall look harder for it.

I do recall it was not a straight through cable based on my research at the time.

I have repaired a XTL2500 with this same issue

You have to inject a tone into the mic port and trace the audio path with a scope to identify the faulty component, In my case it was a faulty mux

DSM describes a procedure for this

I have been down this road in the past, I found nothing.

After researching the R2000 service manual I was able to make a cable to connect the service monitor to the KVL and to a portable for keyloading.

I was able to load a test key into a portable from the monitor however I could not load the ...

The R2200 Service manual is a good read as well, describes the functionality of the features of the service monitor and at the end of the manual it has information on how to connect equipment to the service monitor.

I need to build a cable to go from the R2014D service monitor to the RTL4200A secure junction box. Does anyone know the pinouts from the D15 connector on the service monitor to the junction box. I have a feeling its not 1-1 through to 15-15.

Your should try and read the radio with the Tuner CPS and if successful record your tuning values.

jamming another S-Record in there will overwrite the tuning values and the serial number of your XTS

You may not be able to just write you existing code plug to the Radio if the S-Record's model and ...

I have taken some more measurements on the A9A4 board.

I think the Offset Loop is working and my problem is the Translation Loop. Below are my findings

Offset Loop
Q2 Base = a steady 24.003MHz clean sine wave 9.1vp-p
Q2 Collector = a steady 24.003MHz clean sine wave 10.1vp-p

- the output of A9A4 at R79, I get 59.45MHz 200mV P-P where the schematic states 60.5MHz 1.8v p-p

I have a R2001D that will not lock on to a frequency for RX or TX. The monitor has a good 10Mhz reff signal so I know its not the switch position. I have also attempted prividing a known good 10Mhz reff to the unit to no avail.

FL 01/92 referrs to an error in the internal part of the codeplug (as opposed to the external part of the codeplug, which would be FL 01/82). CPS will seldom fix a codeplug with this error.

Rumor says that European MTS2000 (The one with "MADE IN EC" in the back) are not toolproof-able, even though they are in R06.XX. I haven't tried this myself but that might explain what you are seeing

Sounds like the Radio has been Inhibited. UHF can be inhibited as well, You get the self test screen and then the screen goes blank then thats its. no error on the display.

As Far as I know the saber 1 to 3 do not support Selective Calling

the Mx 1000 2000 3000 ( Eurapean saber ) series radios do have Selective call and you should be able to disable MDC from every TX

If the radio had originally belonged to a system and was lost or whatever it may have been killed from the console. If this happened the radio needs to go to a MSS to reprogrammed.

No only pre programmed frequencies as in channels.
You need the Rss for this type of radio, regular saber rss will NOT program this radio,

I have programmed my saber clear as a saber secure ( to get the beep b4 tx ). The radio will rx and scan no probs but will not tx, it beeps as if the switch was in the wrong pos like on a secure saber with no encription modual installed.
