Re: VHF / UHF IP Site Connect
I'm not familiar with the CP200d so this could be out-of-date. According to these docs while the CP200d does do conventional Mototrbo it doesn't do IP Site Connect: https://www.motorolasolutions.com/content/dam/msi/docs/business/product_lines/mototrbo/_documents/_static_files/mototrbo_ataglance_bro...

Re: VHF / UHF IP Site Connect
First, if you are IP SITE CONNECTING a UHF system with a VHF system, you cannot roam between sites anyway. The only thing the IPSC enhancement gives you is the ability to enter a channel pool and roam list. Just put the frequencies, color codes, talk groups and time slots into the CP200d and it wil...

Re: VHF / UHF IP Site Connect
Sorry to dig up a dated thread. I'm just now getting around to starting this project. I came across some documentation that stated that the CP200d is not compatible with IP Site Connect. Is it just that it won't seamlessly roam between zones or will it not function at all? I just need to pass both t...

VHF / UHF IP Site Connect
I have a VHF MOTOTRBO system that has been running pretty stable for several years, but we've always had difficultly with consistent coverage inside of certain buildings. I need to cover an area of about 1.5 square kilometers with multiple large disjointed buildings. 95% of the users are on 5w porta...

Re: XPR8300 Interference & Hang Time
This is an interesting problem that we also have on a system with an identical problem that we can't seem to find the source of. On our system it is a MTR2000 that has been online for over 6 years with no problems. Suddenly we started getting the same intermittent indications as listed by the OP, w...

Re: XPR8300 Interference & Hang Time
I tried repeatedly to get the system to fail and produce the noise yesterday, but it wouldn't do it. We had a service monitor hooked up in-line with on the RX side and didn't see anything unusual. Also took the opportunity to measure power at the duplexer output, ~19W forward, ~1.5-2W back. Repeater...

Re: To newly registered users: Welcome! Please read...
I've opened this announcement up to allow 'newly registered users' to reply in the thread, specifically for the ones that may not be so 'new' anymore. As you may or may not know, there is no automatic trigger to move 'newly registered users' over to 'registered users' based on time, or post count, ...

Re: XPR8300 Interference & Hang Time
Can you post the audio? Is it like a grinding noise? I had one that had a similar problem, never could sort it out, but it went away when the repeater narrowbanded. We moved to narrowband quite a while ago. I don't really think I would call it a grinding noise. I have uploaded an audio sample to th...

Re: XPR8300 Interference & Hang Time
It sounds like you may have a low-level spur being generated by the transmitter, or a low-level IM product generated by the antenna. Can you perhaps put a tap inline with the receive port of the repeater and sniff that? I'll try to barrow a service monitor again and give it a shot. In reference to ...

XPR8300 Interference & Hang Time
I have an odd issue with a VHF XPR8300 in analog mode. This install has been running largely problem free for more than 4 years. Recently at the end of a transmission the repeater would stay keyed with both TX & RX indicators illuminated indefinitely until you either power cycled the unit or rep...

If it can’t be done internally has anyone used an external controller to accomplish this? In particular the Motorola ZR310?
Thanks for any help anyone can provide?

XPR8300 Analog Channels
On the XPR8300 repeater can you add multiple analog channels (same frequencies, but with different PL/DPL codes?) I see the CPS software seems to allow it, but I have not actually tried this on a production unit?

Re: Multiple radios on single antenna
After reviewing some information and talking with one of our area reps we are going to go with a newer radio (CM200 / CM300) and remote stations. I guess the MaxTracs will just go back into storage, I didn’t foresee using them very long since we are going to be changing over to narrowband operation ...

Re: Multiple radios on single antenna
I suppose that would work, but I don’t think the radio in room A would hear the transmissions of the remote console in room B or the inverse is that incorrect?
Thanks,
Jason

Re: Multiple radios on single antenna
The current system is operated out of an office type environment, currently there is a single radio in a relatively central location. The desire is to have a second radio located in an adjacent room. For ascetic reasons we were hoping to not have to install another outdoor antenna and a second feed ...

Re: Multiple radios on single antenna
Thank you for your reply,
I honestly am not really familiar with this radio and documentation is being hard to come by, everything I have learned about it has come from two sites, this being one of them.
For the proposed solution would I need a third radio?
Thanks,
Jason

Multiple radios on single antenna
Please forgive me if this is a relatively dumb question, but what would the most efficient way be to share a single antenna and primary feed line with two VHF base station radios? Currently the two radios are older MaxTracs operating at 25 watts. Both radios are on the same frequency. (155.XXX) Any ...

Racks and Cabinets
What brand and design of equipment racks does everyone here seem to prefer? Most of the time a simple 12 unit rack is adequate for my needs. In the past I have used a lot of Atlas cabinets for housing my rack mountable hardware, but they have become increasingly more expensive and are not as readily...
