Reading the brochure that is on the page you have linked to, the 6500 is single band and the 7500 is dual band.

Re: Geting XTL5k to go out of band?
You will need to hex edit the CPS to allow you to program the radio that far down. Not sure if it will TX or not, you will just need to try it. I know with the UHF R1 XTL's will program to 478 instead of the 470. SOme radio's will TX and others will not, they just come up with a fail message. I wish ...

Re: Additional Channels
I think your correct, its only editing what is displayed in the cps not the actual code plug. is it possible to edit the code plug in the radio without reading it with the CPS?
Any info greatly appreciated
Many thanks

Re: Additional Channels
Hi Jim
I already have the latest firmware and the full channel amount for the radios is 1000. Except for the other one of mine which has been modified at some stage to allow 2000.
Thanks for your info.

Re: Finding CPS password using Hexeditor
Hi
I am trying to achieve the same thing, I have managed to see the password viewing the RAM and searching for it, Is it possible to modify the CPS to do this without searching the RAM.
I am using both Portable and Mobile ASTRO25 CPS R15.00.00
Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

Hi All
An XTL5000 that I purchased a while ago, has a 2000 channel capacity, when you read the radio config ->radio Wide-> General Tab it states that there is 2000 maximum channels. I have tried programming the full 2000 channels and it all works fine. Write/Read and testing TX on the XTL.

Re: MCS2000 VHF Band Expansion
Hi
You will need to hex edit your CPS .exe file, using the method for ASTRO software, I know this works for the MCS2000 CPS. This will allow you to program the radio that low, If it transmits at that freq is a whole different story, all i can suggest is to try it and see.

Rolling back CPS version in a code plug
Hi All
Just wondering if it is possible to roll back the version of cps that is stored in a codeplug file.
For example if I had a codeplug that was last programmed with CPS r14.00.01 is there a way to modify that code plug to open in CPS r7.00.00? Or can i modify the CPS to open a newer codeplug ...

Hi All
Just wondering if any body knows if it is possible to add a VRS to a mobile XTL5000 and turn the XTL5000 into a repeater system for infrequent mobile use?

Does anybody know if it is possible to hex edit the CPS versions R12 - R14 to bypass the code plug password.

Hi All
FYI i managed to fix the error codes on my MCS2000. I accidentley changed some of the siren settings in the cps. Having no siren hardware fitted to the radio it must bring up those fault codes.
