Re: Quantar Conventional to 9600 Trunking Conversion

Looks like your SWDL erased the SCM application software prior to the upload, but it bombed the upload due to a version mismatch. I suspect you tried "load and install" and then "load" both failing and ultimately wiping both partitions. As CoM asked, can you provide: - CSS Versio...

1: Yes 2: Yes 3: If you are looking for a stand-alone "trunking" quantar for single site trunking? The only way to make it work with JUST a Quantar is to make it an IR and force it into Site Trunking. IE: Put the EPIC2 controller back in with IR firmware and SRAM. Even then, it won't be 96...

Re: XE500 Speaker Mic (PMMN4106), Revision B

We just did a bunch of internal testing with the XE500 and not very impressed with the performance. The ruggedized Commander outperformed it in transmit audio quality, even in a high noise environment, without all the bells and whistles. M Which mic did you select instead of the XE500? (Model?) tpg

The beauty of the Digitac is the AGC circuits. To make a VERY long story short, as long as they are all the same... the digitac will sort it out. I use -13 from avg voice for status tone. I use a combination of telco and microwave (not ideal, but that's what it is.) The ideal way is to measure at th...

You still incorrectly assume that I'm advocating double-terminating the darned circuit in the final stages. Re: GTR Wire Line

I see a slight difference in level when bridged across a console to radio circuit as opposed to console to terminated TIMS. That's typical. The termination value of the radio will vary from product to product. The TIMS termination "should" be a calibrated 600ohm termination. Radios can va...

My agency typically uses -6dB for a level, unless paging is involved. Others will recommend -10dB, which I personally feel is better. I disagree with Jim that the TIMS should be used in bridge mode, however. I've seen an error as great as 1.5dB in bridged mode. I would set the equipment up while it...

WRONG. You STILL need a full on Astro25 master site, even if it's a "miniaturized" version, otherwise you have no means to program the OP's, no place to store the CDM, no place to store the alias database, etc. It's an EXPENSIVE and LARGE investment to go MCC7500, even if it's just for a ...

Maybe in the States. Here in Canada at least, we have to go through ATS for Linked Capacity Plus, and by extension, Capacity Plus since it needs to be configured as a single site LCP in order to interface through VP Gate. I can't say if IPSC needs to go through ATS, as I haven't dealt with that yet...

The AVTEC pricing gets REALLY ridiculous if you can't deal with them directly, and are forced to go through the Motorola ATS (Assembled Trunked/TRBO Systems) group, as is required for any 'direct connect' MotoTRBO system...you might be able to avoid that if using Outposts only, I don't know.
