Re: VRS750 Pinout Needed

Wow,

Is this correct? With that you could use a parallel printer extension cable. Not many Motorola radio applications use a M-F 1-1 cable.

Very easy if indeed true.

Re: VRS 750 and VRS EP Help Hooking Up

Hi Guys,

Is the cable from the Astro Spectra <> VRS750 documented somewhere? I am assuming it connects to the DB25 female on the bottom to the radio and not the MCS2000 style cable on the face plate. Also is a VRS750 the current model for a XTL2500/5000?

Re: Asterisk based DIY P25 repeater and RoIP

This is interesting... I have been experimenting with this with similar results (app_rpt w/2 - W5 420 radios). I love the idea of a W3 radio running with no control head. Can you only do that with a W3? Also is there anything else I would need to know other than connecting +12 to IGN and D-DNG to EM...

gm340 gm360 gm380 new Narrowband spacing?

Hi All, I was thinking of using one of these radios to monitor CalFire and was wondering if they will accept 2.5KC stepped frequencies. A good example would be 151.2725... If anyone has one of these can you check and see if you can enter that?... I suspect Europe is a bit more organized and only nee...

Re: VRS 750 and VRS EP Help Hooking Up

Guys,

Can a VRS 750 relay a "Auto Scan" mode from an Astro Spectra? With a VRS-EP hooked up the radio drops out of scan mode as soon as you hit the VRS button.

I have an 700/800 xts2500 that "rumbles" on receive (analog) after being on for 10minues. I did not notice it before since I was only using it on p25 until lately. I suspect that p25 performance is down also. Anyone seen this before? (4Meg r9.0.13/r12.0.4) I am assuming the radio is one si...

GM360 Scan Lists

All,

I am looking at a GM360 for a project but I need to know the number of scan lists the radio can hold. My USA 128ch 1250 has a 16 list max.

I can't find a detailed spec sheet on the 360 other then the radio has a scan feature.

Thanks in advance, Pete

W4's Maximums

All, I have to put a Astro mobile in an airplane and the pilot(s) dislike the "mode" up/dn button on the W5/W7 heads. Aircraft radios all seem to have the "dial" way of QSYing and they would like it if I could swap W7 -> W4. My questions are: a) Can I put a W4 head on a W7 radio ...

Dkouz,

Main line repeaters, very cool!

The only system I have seen like that was BART, (they have since move to 800MHZ)

They had a 160Mhz RR repeaters for their line channel but I don't really think of BART as a real RR, but I guess a subway system counts.

CM I have a list of Duplex Union Pacific repeaters you can hear from Monterey to see how they are used. A good example (of split TX/RX) is the Amtrack trains that have to travel on UP and BN lines in California. To access the railroad phone networks the amtrack operator can punch up any repeater off...

I have Micom-XF and the scanning is not very useful. When scanning is moves from channel to channel with out regard to the squelch opening, the operator has to "get to the radio" to make it stop scanning by pressing the scan key (or the PTT sw)? Has anyone used a Micom-2? Are the scanning ...

Spectra UHF Range 3 -> Ham...

OK, I extended the VCO strip all the way to the end (after doing it a bit at a time) and ended with the radio locking @ 444. I then soldered a bit of wire on the end and now it's 443. All of the repeaters I use are 440.xxx am I out of luck or is there another mod I can try?
