OK, I just pulled a brand new in the box charger from inventory. I think the problem everyone is having is that the metal case is slightly hitting the radio housing. This is keeping it from making contact on the charge pins. Very easily resolved by taking a dremel tool w/ a sanding drum to the edge ...

Also keep in mind that a compact rapid charger for the HT750 / 1250 / 1550 WILL also work on the EX minnows.

Well apparently nobody has really tried because it works fine on the EX series. You need to firmly luck the radio in place and if need be remove the two small cushion pads at the bottom of the charge well. People they are exactly the same.

The above is correct and takes us back to using the wrong cable!! That cable should be returned for refund along w/ anything else that may need to be checked for repair. A rib is damn easy to fix as are the many voltage regulaters in an mcs2000 head. those regs blow quite often if the wrong cable is...

Joe's ribless is not rlevant though. It will NOT work on a MCS2000. bottom line, wrong cable which should be returned to me along w/ anything possibly baked or fried and then I resolve the matter w/ repair / and or refund. however this is a weird situation w/ spliced control cables, and questionable...

The error you are receiving is because the radio does not like the cable. The cable has to allow the pooter to see the radio and vice versa.

The serial number is only needed for the one wire serial comm chip in the USB cable, NOT the ribless "normal" cable. there is no difficulty making it if you have surface mount technology, microscopes, and professionaly made boards. Nothing proprietary either. Hi Frank !!!!

Also correct on the manuals. Seems they would like to see the Astro saber go into the sunset. another perfectly great radio bit the big one way before it's time and they dont seem to want to help keep it around longer then the 5 year stipulation.

Monty, might you want to reverify? I just ordered 2 HT1000 uhf this morning w/ no problem but when I mentioned the "JT" they laughed. Call any CSM and check it out!!!! As I said last of dec 2005 for the HT1000 and last day of Dec. 2006 for the MT/MTS.

Nah, it already speaks for itself as the best analog radio they ever made and to date the best quality radio (portable) they have ever made available to the industry. No need to increase the sales by playing games, just be honest and show construction and performance compared to waris!

Shaun, where did you get that info? It is wrong. those are referred to as "beta" units and most will function w/ Reg. ware. And the "Alphas" are actually the project name for what the GP2000 series are referred to as.

And I offer the 3 standard motorola keys on a regular basis. I have the moto 1 / 2135 / 2552 / and 2553 keys in stock. They are always on ebay but I would of course prefer to deal outright which would be less expensive for both parties.
