Re: FPP Option on XTS5000
With only Q53 ,you need the programming dongle adapter which attaches to the side of the radio's accessory jack that looks like a audio adapter on the radio for the FPP func to show on the radio soft menu display. Your radio only has FCC FPP option. Most XTS5000 with FPP has both Q52 Federal FPP,Q53:...

I think the 2K memory Sabers you can put in channel text but you can't get both channel text and scan at the same time? You can't use both at the same time. One option at a time.

No.You will have to get a UHF-2 S split 450-520MHz RF board and switch out the rf boards out of the radio. Then, you will need to get the radio's vocon board flashed with a "S"split code plug. The RF board is $450.00 list. Very rare to find one used or NOS on the secondary market like here o...

You will have to flash that Vocon board as a VHF Model I,2 or 3 and after you are able to do that, the radio will need a full alignment to VHF since the vocon board was aligned for 800MHz.
Will take time and skill to do that besides needing a service monitor.

The 8 inch is great if you have freqs from the low 136MHz to the upper 174MHz but if you have freqs in like the 150-160MHz range, the 6 inch band specific antenna would be more ideal since the antenna is specifically tuned to that range.
