Knockdown or XMIT disable input on AUX SLR5700?
We are in the process of purchasing an SLR 5700 repeater for the club. Our site use agreement requires the capability to shut down all transmitters automatically when personnel go out onto the roof where the antennas are located. We have installed a switch on the roof hatch that goes to the TX INHIB...

TX Inhibit on XPR 8300?
We are trying to address some RF exposure issues at our shared repeater site. Our MSF5000's have TX Inhibit inputs to shut down the PA by grounding the pin, is there any way we can shut down the PA on an XPS 8300, short of pulling the 120 VAC plug and battery connector? Is there any possibility that...

Re: Removing CIU?
How thick is the door material? It appears to be aluminum. Wonder if a hole saw just large enough to go around the cylinder could be used to remove cyliner wholesale....

Removing CIU?
Trying to re-purpose a 60" rack with an MSF5000-era THN6599B CIU stuck in it. I say stuck because the front panel of the the CIU has a MEDECO lock (virtually unpick-able) and a retainer bracket that is secured from inside the CIU. All-in-all a pretty good tamper-proof design on Motorola's part....

Re: MSF5000 power supply TPN1271A
Doggone it I lied!!! I don't have the real documents for the TPN1271A. Had to dig thru the pile of manuals and notes to remember - after all it's been almost two decades since I worked on that particular power supply. After a whole lot of circuit extraction and comparison, it became apparent that th...

Re: MSF5000 power supply TPN1271A
Are you still working on the MSF1271A? I can scan a copy of the manual if you need it. The batteries do indeed go directly across the 12 and 24 volt outputs on the supply, which can be a bit of a problem. The 12 Volt supply is properly regulated, but the 24 Volt supply is kind of "along for the...

Re: Need help with MSF10000's with wildcards
Wildcards were most definitely installed at the factory. Will check the model plate for SPX numbers. Don't have the orginal parameter booklet. The RSS Station Type/Operation section has SP Number: NO SP Have a DMP, will check the operation with and without the expansion tray plugged in. The optos an...

Need help with MSF10000's with wildcards
We have two MSF10000s (the export version of the MSF5000) one on 2 meters, one on 440 MHz. Both are the digital version, with SSCB, TTRC, expansion trays, and two wildcards each. The wildcards in each machine are set up the same - there's a 4 wire cable jumpering the optoisolators from one board to ...
