Quick Mount

As of Dec 24, Valley Induistrial no longer offers Quick Mount kits for any products.

The QM division "is for sale to anyone that wants to battle Motorola's legal department."

In Other words, Motorola effed them up the 'ol pooper. Surprise, surprise.

Instead of the smartass comments, maybe next time you will point out that your have a 10KW UPS and not let us all assume you are using a small computer UPS.

This is exactly why I only read this wannabe forum once a month.

It all went to hell when Monty passed away and Cowtheif got banned.

A UPS is a pisspoor way to back up any radio equipment. It is about as inefficient as it gets. You take 12VDC to 120VAC and back to 12VDC all while under 50% efficiency. Everyone wants to take the lazy "plug n play" way out with a UPS from a computer that has no place in radio. Besides, yo...

I have successfuly used it on some "M" radios, but we all know how well "M" RSS works in a DOS window.

I did use it with KPG7D software under true DOS and it worked fine on my POS Compaq.

QM's tech staff is very helpful.

I found the main problem with intermittent operation is the modular connector. The rubber hood that covers the mod connector places strain on the mod connector and will unseat pins. Pull the jackt back (or remove it) and you won't have a problem.

Could you imagine selling a PD a J-Pole built from copper tubing from Home Depot? This is as bad as seeing a Ringo Ranger used for a repeater antenna.
