So hang time is not available for a digital channel? I thought it was, as well as SIT, especially since the help file for SIT says to make sure SIT is set at least as long as hang time, but preferably longer. I'll have to look at this more closely.
Thanks.

SIT vs Hang Time
When a Trbo repeater is operating in digital mode, what exactly is the difference between traditional hang time and SIT (Subscriber Inactivity Timer)? Based on the description in the CPS, SIT sounds merely like a second hang timer.

Re: Feedline suggestions for deployable repeater
Two considerations from years of experience deploying temporary systems on a weekly basis:
1) Larger diameter coax (RG213, RG214, 9913, 9913F7, LMR400[-UF]) tends to hold up better, if for no other reason than it tends to command a greater psychological respect from users.

Re: tone codes and antenna question
Presuming you're using fiberglass dipole or colinear designs, 7dB antennas have a significant null directly below the bottom. If height is at a premium (two 7dB fiberglass antennas will be about 14' before separation), a half wavelength should be fine, a little more than 1 foot in the low 450's, but ...

Unfortunately I can't provide an exact date for you. As you likely already know, 47 CFR 90.301-315 defines where the channels can be used the the requirements to get a license on those channels. 90.301 shows a creation date of 22 November 1978, with amendments 17 April 1997.

Intersting stuff. I'm looking at installing an alarm system at a remote building with no landline service, but has excellent gsm cell service. I wonder how well this would work to hook up to the alarm system to dial the monitoring service. Anyone have thoughts on this?

We have a UHF P1225 (16ch) that came in with a frequency error in excess of 8KHz. Our junior tech (and I use that term generously) decided he could correct that in the service menu by adjusting the TX frequency warp all the way to the extreme, rather than asking a senior tech. The result is a radio ...

Coax shields: Double braid vs. braid over foil
Posts in several threads by the more knowledgeable and experienced members of this forum have stated a preference for double braided coax (i.e. RG142, RG214) over braid over foil (such as TM's LMR series). After reviewing the published specifications by Belden and Times, it appears, at least when ...
