Cat 5 cable for local desksets?
May be a goofy question, but I have never seen anyone use Cat5 cable for local remotes. The typical multi cable I have seen and used usually has 1 or 2 seperately shielded wires for audio hookup. Cat5 does not. I have a customer that has 24 Moto remotes (mainly C200 I believe, with 3 brand new Gai ...

Trying to wire a gooseneck mic to an xtl1500
I've been given a project to wire a podium-style gooseneck microphone to an xtl1500 mobile being used as a base radio. The mic is 500 ohm dynamic. I am assuming the usual xtl1500 mic (hmn1090a) uses a small preamp (at least it looks like it does). When I hooked up the gooseneck mic, the most mod I ...

Thanks for all the replies. Come to find out, it was going to take much longer than I would have liked to get a new feedhorn. How do you set the new CDR repeaters to come on automatically when power is applied? I know about setting up CDM mobiles with the ignition wire, but how do you do that when the accessory plugs are taken up by the RICK cables? Can you tap into the appropriate wire on the RICK cable?

I'm trying to tie in a CM 200 to use as a link on an MTR2000. I have the accessory plug kit #TKN9205. First, does Motorola offer instructions to do this (too late to call today)? I need a reasonably priced external encoder to attach to a radio. The encoder will be mounted on a wall, with the radio in a closet nearby. I know Secode, SSC, etc. used to make these but they aren't around anymore. Who makes these things these days. A google search did not provide much.
