Definitely no burning smells. When I opened the consolette I didn't see anything immediately burnt/wrong...That's why I was wondering where to start looking, or a work around to isolate the power supply as the issue.

Nope, you have to do all the programming of the console via Console Database Manager, CDM. The consoles are not designed to do that. I think some of the ACIM cards can poll the radio, but, I've never built that config. This same method of logic is true even through the MCC7500 series consoles today...

Okay weird question...I have a Centracom Gold System that I'm getting around to setting up.

HOW EXACTLY does the Centracom CEB, etc., find out which radio has what programmed? Does it read the radio through the serial connection?

The UDS208 A/B was a 2400 baud synchronous landline modem, not a TNC and not 1200 baud. If you want a 1200b async modem that uses the 1200/2200 tone pair that is used with legacy VHF packet networks you should be looking instead for a model 202S or T. It's still not a TNC! I had done both running as admin and deleting everything and trying over. I found an alternative, less favorable for some, fix. "Resetting" Windows 10 with the KEEP FILES option on did the trick.

I have this antenna puck off an old car, I thought it was for modem OR GPS use, but I'm not finding much online. It's a puck style GPS looking antenna with about 15 feet of coax and a N style connector at the end.

What do you mean RX/TX? Audio? Or for reading and writing to the repeater? Or do you mean PTT?


A program I use on the computer, can use the computers microphone and speaker instead of the radio's microphone and speaker...
