Re: How do you get the UPI to work with 2-wire pagers?
I have used a programmer i made for Kenwood radios to program both 2 and 3 pin pagers. My 3 pins are Ground, DFR and DTR, I read somewhere online to place a 1k jumper from DFR to DTR as 1 pin and ground as the other. I have used this for an Advisor, Adivsor Gold, Advisor Elite.

From the information I have seen on the PR1500 a software upgrade to make the radio P25 conventional will be available mid 2006, so I am of the belief that radios currently sold as conventional will be able to be upgraded through Motorola to be p25. I can not find any mention of the MT1500 having a ...

mt 1500 analog trunked and conventional channels- up to 48 channels. Not APCO 25 compatable.
pr 1500 32 conventional channels, upgradeable to p25 conventional- according to Motorola this radio is eligable for purchase using Homeland security grants.
Durability is going to be similar on these radios.

I am looking to purchase about 10 800 mhz portables for use at my hospitals ER. We need them for our decontamination team and will also use them day to day for part of our team. Could someone give a simple explanation on how MDC works. I have read through this post that you can do selective calling of specific units, get unit id, and control linked repeaters. Is this done through a key pad on the radio or is it programmed by channel? Do you have to have a display on the rad...
