Do you have the talkgroup channels setup for AMSS WAC, or no coverage type at all? I have noticed a bit of a problem with that in the past. It also could be a firmware issue. Pj is right, it would be nice to see the host/dsp and flash, just to make sure.

Kinda funny that it happened during front face programming. Usually you get an eeprom error, when you cut the power to the radio during programming. Could be some power issues wih the radio, and it may happen again with new eeprom, but then again, it could just be a complete fluke.

You may also want to make sure that nothing else is using that comm port. Double check see that you are using the proper comm port aswell.

TX lock up on W9

Curious if anyone has any thoughts about my UHF astro spectra W9. It will work perfectly on a trunk system with nothing but great performance, but when I use it on a simplex mode, it will intermittently lock up in TX. I have to power down and restart to get it to clear.

Just looking for a little info; When receiving a DES-OFB astro transmission, I sometimes get a click before voice. It sounds like a DC click, but it doesn't happen all the time.

LMR400 is fine for indoors. 214 is a good choice and does offer 100% shielding. I would go and get some RG-142 Thermax, personally. You can use RG-58 connectors with it and it is double shielded with foil. It is also smaller and less of a sore thumb than the big stuff.

The only radio that the continuous rotary will work on is a top display (b4) model MTSX/MT series. If you want to get the most out of your b7 you have to use the keypad for channel change and zone change via rss, disabling the channel knob completely.

Apparently the human body resonates at about 105 MHz. We must also remember that, in regards to RF exposure, the effects are not accumulative. So, if one happens to be bombarded one day, he/she could just stay out of strong RF fields the next, and so on.

MTX's are just the Canadian general term for MTX2000/4000/8000. The most common nameplate they put on the MTX is "MTX838". They still use the same model number decoding as the HT1000. Most MTX portables will do type II trunking, but hey if it is not part of the radio model number, it won't no matter ...
