I have one doing this now, but I didn't swap heads or anything. Just unplugged it and took it downstairs and then back upstairs and hooked it back up and Fl 01/90 and Maintenance Mode/Remote Device.

Right clicked on the executable and set to run in WinXP compat. mode and as administrator and that got it working. USB showed up in the list after I did that so i was able to select it and then read/write. Hooray progress!

Nope, 32bit here still. I just installed this a couple days ago and haven't used it yet. Been using Portable just fine on my 4k via serial too. Don't have a USB cable to try on it though.

Anyone tried this combo yet? I made a cable using the USB connections on the 26 pin. Windows found the radio and installed the drivers, yet CPS 14 doesn't have 'USB' in the port list when I go to set it. The crazy part is that Tuner sees it just fine and reads it with no problem.

I have mine set to handset audio to effectively mute it without hardware mods. You could always drill the head and install a switch to put a four Ohm load on it or connect the speaker leads depending on switch position. I can blank these...it requires doing so while the SJI chip is installed and using their software and some secret-squirrel work. Then you pull the SJI chip and put a normal Motorola firmware in its place and re-initialize. I am surprised you got yours working...

Me and another guy made some adapters to convert the pin outs from a Maxtrac handset to the 6 pin MSF jack. Neither of us could get them to work. No audio out, no transmit. Nothing. Any ideas why? Seems like it would be a quick and dirty way around having a metering panel for some basic testing.

Make sure your options for the rear connector have the emergency button removed. It's giving you the extra 'bonk' because you have emergency button set but no switch wired in. The switch is typically normally closed, open on alarm.
