Re: MCC7500 Questions
If those features do not work on P25 systems, the CPS won't let you enable them in such an environment. Something isn't configured properly. There is also likely back-end equipment required to extract the GPS data and present it to another system that can display it, I know of no consoles that will...

Re: R2670 RF In/Out Woes
I have personally (recently) broken two RF I/O connectors on two separate R2600 monitors. It was due to using LMR400 type coax directly on the monitor with many connect/disconnect cycles in a very short amount of time. Same thing happened - Center conductor pulled out, everything broke. Sent them i...

I should have gotten ambitious before I posted...... I took the screws off the RF I/O connector and the darn thing fell out. Looks like there is a little "ribbon" of metal that connects the center pin to the I/O unit, and it was broken. Took the bottom of the monitor off, and the cover of ...

Yes it is quite frustrating! When I was told that in order to do P25 simulcast, we needed to purchase MLC8000's for EVERY radio on each channel. All the transmitters are GTR8000s, but we have two Quantar receivers floating around still. They said we couldn't tie the GTR8000s in via the IP connection...

Wait a minute - What about the new comparator/interface thing... MLC8000... I know it has v.24 and analog inputs, might want to check into that. Somehow it interfaces to consoles via wireline, I can't imagine it isn't capable of converting P25 to analog. The MLC8000 seems like it COULD do so much, ...

What kind of head do you have now (W series or O series)? If it's W series, you're gonna have to piece the kit together as the O series conversion kit is NLA (I tried to order one last year and discovered that!). Also, you may need to bump your FW. If you currently have an O series, should be just a...

Re: [Any info on CIE addressing]
There shouldn't be any addressing for the CIE. The COIM card in the CEB has to have a TDM address assigned to it in the database and via the dipswitches on the COIM card. The CIE-CEB wire needs to be plugged into one of the two terminations on the CEB card cage where the COIM is located. Termination...

A word of caution here on just randomly swapping cards. There is audio level adjustments that need to be at the correct levels. You need a audio level meter to be able to adjust these boards correctly. Poorly adjusted audio levels will effect both RX and TX directions. Best you have the technicians...

What I meant about they type of transport method was what do you have between the CEB and the control station? What does the setup look like? Hello, The first thing I would do is change out the BIM module in the CEB. The BIM modules are the cards that slide in. You do have a spare, correct? If you have a pile of them, make sure you're using the right kind as there are several different board types. You can compare them visually and by par...

In my system we are running 55us across the board out of our Quantars on narrowband P25. I don't believe there is a way for you to adjust the duration of tones. I just read one of my XTS5k's that also has R20 firmware and can see no setting. I don't think it really matters the "duration" of the tone, as long as the tone pair is a valid pair for the radio. I know when I set up ...
