Speaking of poor connections, you could also have a dirty volume pot. When it is passing audio, rotate the volume knob. If it sounds scratchy, it needs to be replaced.

The NAC, or Network Access Code, is the PL of the P25 Digital world.
It works pretty much the same as PL. As long as the receiver keeps receiving the correct NAC, it will stay unsquelched. This goes for repeaters as well as subscribers. I've never thought of it like that before, but the analogy fits.

Under the Basic tab of the MDC system in the signaling tree, there is a checkbox for "Display Decode ID". You need to have this box checked, and the signaling system in your personality needs to be set for MDC on Rx system (Signaling tab).

You can create a spreadsheet for use in specific windows, like the control channels or the preferred sites, but you can't create a spreadsheet with the whole codeplug in it and copy it in.

I checked the basic and detailed service manuals for you and came up dry.
You could take a service monitor or other RF generator, connect it directly to the radio's antenna port, and then see how much signal you need to get the same level on the portable that you got out in the field.

It is possible. Try doing a search on the board for WinHex.

On the bottom (Main circuit board housing assembly), it is a long and slender board on the front of the main board, on the side opposite the longer ribbon cable.

The antenna kit comes with everything you need to connect to the radio, including the Mini-UHF connector. It is supplied loose, though, and you will need a coax crimper to install it, with the correct dies for that cable / connector.

911, make sure your "User Access" column is set to "Enable", and not disabled or gated. Gated means you can turn that particular user on or off with TRC commands.
