you can max it out, its a pain as you have to move other things to allow.
for fun change 0A or 0F to 7F. no mod require. You will then start to understand

Re: Geting XTL5k to go out of band?
This is something I would like to know how to stop the xtl from fail 001, Is it the FGU hardware mod that needs to be adjusted?
Because no mod to CPS will fix this problem, maybe someone out there can shine some light on this problem.
Q split TX UHF CB ..... or maybe a Mod to TUNE or TuneA

Re: Build your own ASTRO25 equipment programming cables
Programming cables that work 100% of the time and needed with Astro25 mobile radios
The HKN6061 (the below cable) can flash and program the XTL, its a must have cable for programming
and firmware upgrades for radio, you can flash 03 heads but not 05 heads use HKN6183

Re: Motorola XTS5000 S-split question: info in service mode
Simple....you have a Q spit RF board in the radio and the Vocon has a S Split codeplug in it.
Thats why you are reading model number and saying it's an S Split. It's not it a Q Split RF deck.
If you have a ram22 RF deck they most of the time will TX up to sometime 492mhz yep that high and lock ...

Re: XTS5000 R06 / CPS R15 Backwards Compatibility
If you have a xts5000 R06 CPG/FW and you write with CPS R15 and don't up grade the radio to R09 firmware first with the cpg updated, you will have strange things happen, Like CPS error messages IE ( can't convert cpgdb to cpdb) or conv-personally.

Re: Tactical OTAR who has done it?
Hi Mate,
The problem is when you make a tactical OTAP key you need to asign the key ID to a range above the normal CKR KID range.
The good news is that the KVL3K+ will tell you the range if you enter the Tactical KID out of range.
I can't remember the range 100% but try making a key as normal but ...

Re: AES-CGM?
It's AES with 256 byte, but encrypts the key id / CKR to be txed, that's the only difference between AES-256
And AES-GCM is what you meen Doug, & GCM is the letter's of the guy name who made it.

Re: Tactical Inhibit/Stun
Matt,
It's simple, If you had two radio's and one was to send a kill or stun, It's encrypted the same as voice.
You can kill any radio if you know the ID ( Astro ID in astro systems) and the radio is loaded with the same key. It's given about CPS & Flash code etc. As per normal.
But that's the ...
