I figured out that I had to enable it to carrier squelch for the rx, and I can hear the repeater fine without having to press the monitor button now.

I am new to programing so excuse my question, but what is the best processor and Operating system to use when programing with RSS version R09.05.00. Would I be able to use a Pentium 1 running Windows 95 or would that damage something?

Can I use any 25pin to 9pin computer cable that connects to the original Motorola RIB RLN4008E or do I have to use the actual cable that Motorola sell for it 3080369B7? I am using all genuine equipment except for the computer to RIB cable.

I just did my radio today and it went rather well with the watchbuddy radio. I dont notice any difference in the performance of the radio so hopefully it stays that way.

Astro Saber PSM

I picked up a Public Safety Mic for the Astro Saber III and the dam thing doesnt want to transmitt but it will receive. I had a mic on it before and the same thing so I cleaned the contacts and no luck. Any ideas would be appreciated.

The sherriffs department in the county I live in operates vhf ht1000s and they have the stubby antenna on them with psm mic as well, so thanks for the info ill have to search around for a part number or something like that.

I am not sure what you really did wrong, but it sounds to me like maybe you didnt put the right output frequency in. You put the correct input frequency in to receive but you need the output frequency with a PL tone to transmit on the radio. I believe I am correct here because that is what I had to ...
