I have had this problem with about 20 or so APX6000XE and APX7000XE AN portables, along with a neighboring city which has 6000XE BN's. I'd open a case with Motorola and hopefully your radios are under warranty. I don't think the black on the connector is caused by water as we've had about 10 radios ...

Apparently i was the second person to open a case with Motorola in reference to this issue, hopefully they get it resolved in the next update. I didn't notice the issue until R15.

I just blasted a couple of radios this morning & will post back if there are any issues. Really wish we could get a 7.17 system upgrade so we could play with those features... over-the-air call list updating would be a Godsend. They still haven't resolved the issue which began with the first 15...

Most of the newer CPS will work fine with Vista or Windows 7 x86 32 bit, but with 64 bit I couldn't get any Astro CPS to work.

Hopefully it's just a firmware issue that will be fixed soon. I imagine this is a major problem for public safety if there radio will not unmute for the first few seconds.

Sending your radio to the depot should always be an available way to get the latest firmware - assuming that's worth the $300 - 400 hit. However, may of these "civilian" radios may not be good candidates for a trip to the depot: surgically hacked by removing transmit parts , W.O. flashcod...

I was wondering if anyone knows how to make TX inhibit work with an Astro Spectra being used as a base? In the programming under ignition switch I selected TX inhibit and the other option is PTT TX inhibit and im not sure how to make this work. Thanks

The flash is 100008-000000-0. I don't have the radio yet but, I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't cost alot to reflash it for rebanding and add Digital Id. I also have an XTS3000 that I need to get the flashed with the latest firmware. Thanks. -Jeff
