Re: Motorola HPD-1000

The do work well and use standard CPS. You do not need a real IV&D system to use them. They only work in 700/800 MHz and while 900 MHz might be theoretically possible it would be a real effort. You can use the P25 modulation on simplex but not in HAI mode. Not at least in my experience. The dat...

Re: CDM "DISABLED"

I can read the radio with no problem. I will look to see if there is a PP board installed, the radio is able to be disbaled remotely by our dispatch but attempts to send the enable code over the air does not seem to re enable it.

CDM "DISABLED"

I have a VHF CDM 1250 that is showing "DISABLED" on the screen. The radio was being installed at our garage and the installer said this showed up after powering it up. He thinks he may have pushed a button but was unsure. We try to enable it at dispatch but it will not work. Is there any w...

Re: External PTT options for CDM or CM series

Are you using a repeater controller of any type between your receiver(s) and transmitter? Out of curiosity, how many receivers are you voting and how far apart are they located? Hi there, We are voting 3 sites as of now and have the ability to vote up to 6,two being remote and one being local. We c...

External PTT options for CDM or CM series

I am nearing the end of my voter system build. I am using a GE voter (Macom) and I am supplied with a +16VDC output from the voter. I am able to use either a CDM or CM series radio as an exciter but need a simple way to make the output from the voter usable. I also wouldn't mind a way to add hang ti...

How do I lower output power on CM200

I am looking to take several high power UHF CM200s down to about a 5-10 watt output. Low setting seems to give me about 20 out and since I will be using these for uplink radios on a voted receive system, I would like to put less stress on the radio should they be transmitting for an extended period ...

Update

Thank you for the input thus far. I will do my best to explain what I have found so far... BTW, our local Moto dealer told us it is a radio issue in all of the squads.... lol We have all of the tone remotes terminate at a 66 block. From there, wires are punched down to another 66 block with a spark ...

Re: Centracom Gold Elite audio cutting out

Thanks for all of the input. We had our local Moto dealer here for 5 hours and they were unable to diagnose the problem. I now have a feeling that this is a problem before the console as our logger is picking up the drop in audio and that is punched into the 66 block prior to the console. I will try...

Re: Centracom Gold Elite audio cutting out

Thank you for the quick responses. To answer a few questions, this is a 2 position setup using copper between the cage and the CIE. I do have a pile of cards here but the odd part of it all is, despite the same part number on the cards, they appear different. I took one of the "new" cards ...

Re: Centracom Gold Elite audio cutting out

Hello, The first thing I would do is change out the BIM module in the CEB. The BIM modules are the cards that slide in. You do have a spare, correct? If you have a pile of them, make sure you're using the right kind as there are several different board types. You can compare them visually and by pa...

Centracom Gold Elite audio cutting out

I am working with a Centracom Gold Elite dispatch console and have been having issues with audio on one channel cutting out. This is not a global issue but specific to a single channel on the system and am currently working on ruling out the radio and tone remote as the culprit (we use control stati...

Re: MaxTrac No audio

I think you are measuring at the + side of the capacitor. No volts there means the radio is programmed for the HANDSET which deactivates the speaker amplifier. BINGO! Thank you all for the suggestions, Something as simple as an option in the RSS is all it was. Appears to work as expected now, thank...

Re: MaxTrac No audio

Thanks for the replies... Do you know exactly where that cap may be? I will take a look this weekend. If that is indeed the issue, what is usually the culprit in this case?

QCII on GP360

Hello! I am looking at picking up a GP360. The auction says it will do QCII which I would like to setup for my fire department. We use two tone sets, one being a two tone 1/3 second interval. the other is a single 8 second tone. I opened up the software, and found plenty of options for tone setup, b...
