Re: Minitor V programming question (ON/OFF duty)
Thanks. That is what I figured the answer was going to be. I guess my dog will just run and hide every time the other dept gets toned out and the pager goes off  Anybody else have a dog that listens to their scanner and can tell the tones and the names of the depts that surround you? Thanks aga...

Minitor V programming question (ON/OFF duty)
I am trying to set up my pager with 3 sets of tones. I have my home dept that I would like to have in the OFF duty position (call1). For ON duty I would like our neighboring depts tones (call 2 & 3). We are auto mutual aid 6am to 6PM but dispatch seems to forget to stack tone us. Since I work in...

My '08 1500 for work has the sensor in the middle of the dash. If it gets a notebook, hat, etc.... thrown over it the lights will come on and radio will dim.

Kenwood serial settings?
I am trying to use a USB-serial adapter ( I know some don't work). The first one that I bought didn't do anything on the radio but the second one trips the display to "PC" so I know that it is communicating in some fashion. What I was wondering was if anybody knows what the serial settings...

From looking at the auction he has the 2 individual radios and also the cable kit (KRK-7DB) seperately. These can be dual banded but there are some internal mods that need to be made. X-band freq question
I have my Kenwood TK-690/790 set up now and I am looking to setting up a x-band from our lowband dispatch freq out to my highband handheld. I am wondering what would be a legal freq for me to use. Would I be able to use a MURS freq? Thanks for any input on this.

My fire dept uses TK-760 in all of the vehicles and TK-270 & TK-272 protables. I have programmed a 2-tone alert into all of these for an in house alert system. Using KPG-56D for programming I can set the alert tone volume (changed from continuous to level 31) in the TK-760. It seems that this is...

The VIU unit would only be used to pull GPS data from and would no longer be used as "ONSTAR". The GPS data would then be sent out over 144.390 Mhz to a digipeater and on to the rest of the world. Check out http://web.usna.navy.mil/~bruninga/aprs.html for some more info.

On Friday I ordered 2 Ramsey TD-1 kits ($10 each). The manual shows how to wire these together for a 2 tone relay closure. It will just monitor the audio from me mobile and close a relay when it hears the tones. I will let you guys know how it works.
