Re: Is the CP200 Appropriate for Public Safety?

Wow; I'm trying to reflect on where I was in my life almost twelve years ago when I left my pithy comment for this thread. Well, a PD I once worked at used two-channel GP350's. We beat the crap out of them and they never had any issues. No speaker/mics or fancy holsters. A couple guys used some of t...

Lol thats why we're moving to the Swissphone product. I personally have used a Swissphone for at least four if not five years and they work great. The receive is par with the Min II's and they are very tough. In fact, my original RE529 Swissphone is still in service; now held by "the new guy&qu...

I'm trying to gather up information for a proposal to phase out our Minitor II's. I can't keep up with the repairs. I just checked the Eaton UPS management logs. The voltage stays at a constant 122V. The input power slowly fluctuates from 122V to 124V so that looks okay.

MTR2000: DPL won't reset after pressing Monitor button...

Here is the setup: MTR2000 on VHF with a DPL of 131. It is hooked up to a C200 Tone remote deskset at the radio and a VoIP link to Central Dispatch. It works well. TX's from the deskset just fine. RX's just fine. The problem is odd -- it has never done this before until now. When someone presses the...

I actually got through to Swissphone N.A. and they stated that their wideband pagers in circulation can be changed over for a small fee; around $25. I also heard that the narrowband pagers are working on wideband just fine too.

Telex IP-223 VoIP robot voices

The quick and dirty is that we are linked to central dispatch via a Motorola Canopy wireless LAN setup and then utilize Telex's VoIP IP-223 boxes on each end to tx/rx audio to the MTR2000 at our fire station. This was all done in response to 10 years of the frequent failure of the wireline connectio...

I would like to record audio from a MTR2000. What kind of connector is the P5601? I see that I can buy an interface cable from Motorola (01-85180U01) but I don't have time to wait. By all means the cheapest plan would be to just spit fire at AT&T when there is an extended delay in repair and for frequent outages. As kb4mdz was saying; involve the Public Utilities Commission. My goal here is to have a solid path to the remote transceiver. With our allegedly 40-year old wire...
