Re: Recapping Astro Spectras
There used to be someone on the board that sold all the caps for recapping the spectra as a kit. Does anyone know who that was and if they are still doing so?

Re: Help with ID of a Moto OEM Antenna
I just realized that the second antenna is not a Motorola but some after market POS. I'm throwing it out. Thanks for the fast response, and if any needs an OEM VHF Helical I got 45 of them sitting around.

Re: Help with ID of a Moto OEM Antenna
Bingo! They were on there tight, had to use pillars to loosen them. They are all blue tipped VHF Helicals.

Help with ID of a Moto OEM Antenna
I need help with IDing a couple of OEM (or what appear to be OEM) Moto antennas. I got over 30 of the first antennas in the bottom of a box when I purchased a bulk lot of radio gear from an auction. I believe they are to Sabers but not sure what band. The length from the tip to the base (before the ...

Re: Motorola Spectra Programming Trouble
Maybe we have the same type. Who did you order yours from or did you make it yourself? I ordered mine off of eBay from "kawaglow", which many people have said good things about. The RIB was being powered by the 12V without the 9V battery, but like you said, it may have slowly killed it.

Re: Motorola Spectra Programming Trouble
Ya, I totally forgot about how the Spectra is one of the radios that can power the RIB. I forgot to check the RIB-to-Radio cable to see if that pin was there. Then i figured it out and stopped using the 9V battery.
I am not sure if I mentioned this, but it was NOT a Motorola RIB (the one I fried ...

Re: PL dropping out on a Desktrac "repeater"
Okay makes sense. There's no permanent damage done by me not using the Desktrac RSS, right? So if I have my local shop re-program the machine using the Desktrac RSS all should be well?
Thanks for your help!
I think all should be okay by just reading and re-writing the codeplug with DeskTrac RSS ...

Re: PL dropping out on a Desktrac "repeater"
The DeskTrac's have some extra circuitry in the control boards that REQUIRE you to use the DeskTrac RSS after programming the RX/TX with MaxTrac RSS. I have had other "strange" things happen when making changes to either radio with MaxTrac RSS and then not going back and re-reading and writing the ...

Re: GTX/ LTR Portable Error 06 code????
You'd need to blank the radio with LAB, then re-initialize in order to get a 'default' codeplug back into the radio.
Todd
I blanked the radio with GTXLAB, the RSS is now saying it cannot load CP into radio because I must initialize the board. I cannot find an option to initialize in either GTXLAb ...

GTX/ LTR Portable Error 06 code????
Have a GTX LTR portable that after the self test, the radio is getting an "error 06" on the LCD and then a continues loud error tone. The error started after loading the modified C/P back into the radio. I did not save the original C/P, my mistake, but don't know what the "error 06" means?

MTX8000 "Codeplug Too New" Error workaround?
Folks, this maybe has been asked before, but I could not find it in the index so I will ask it again.
Trying to program some 800MHz MTX8000 radios with conventional freqs, B3s and B5s, and get the "Codeplug too new for RSS" error. Using RSS R06.00.00 version and I know it is outdated, but like I ...

Creating a new MTX900 codeplug
I'm looking for the "how to" on creating a new, from scratch, codeplug for the MTX900. I have the RSS and I'm able to read, write, and clone codeplugs between 2 radios.
I have a couple of radios that have the codeplug completely erased, no model or serial number reads from the radio when read by ...
