using smartnet ii 6809 controllers with 4 quantar channels 800mhz. reprogrammed quantars for new freqs, reprogrammed xts 5000 for new control channels. The portable will communicate with control channel but will tx and rx the old frequencies that the trunking system was on.

Try reading with latest version of software it will sometimes recover it to a default codeplug. also may try programming it with a saved codeplug or a default one that matches the model number.IF all else fails take it to your local Motorola Shop, if they can't recover for you they can send it to ...

I have used a usb to serial adapter with rib for programming most radio euipment without issue, other than some software not recognizing beyond com2 so you may have to reorganize your port numbers for some of the older software.

Those numbers do not look like cap codes to me. The best way to get the tone info is to contact your local radio dealer especially a local Motorola shop or whoever programmed the pager for you. They will have your tone information and usually provide it to you if you paid for programming. A simple ...
