Re: APX 4500 & J2 rear connector

Thanks. I was hoping I could just remove the ignition sense and speaker wire and pull the pins out of the connector and just keep the jumper that is in 14 & 15 connected and it would work.

Re: APX 4500 & J2 rear connector

I’m looking at using the connector that came with the radio. I’m asking if I pull the connector apart and remove the ignition sense wires and just leave the jumper will that work? If they turn the main power on in the truck the radio needs to turn on also and it does until I put the connector on it....

APX 4500 & J2 rear connector

So I have a firetruck that on one talkgroup when the radio is turned on it goes into emergency mode automatically. This radio was installed previously by someone else and didn't put the rear connector on it. My question, if I pull the pins from the ignition sense side can I still use just the pins i...

There are rumours floating around that when Motorola releases 2.10 you will only be able to program using RM. Can anyone confirm this?

MOTOTRBO Radio Management

Anyone here using it to manage their trbo systems? I'm looking for advice on how to go about adding different systems when you don't have a radio to read into the configuration mode. We're making the move to move all trbo systems that are either trunking, IP Site Connect, or use Radio ID's to RM.

Re: Firmware upgrade 7550

What operating system? If Win10, try a different computer or Win7, 10 seems to be obtuse sometimes on some machines. 8.1 Pro. I've tried it on that laptop with Win 10 Pro, Win 7 Pro and still no luck. I'm trying to find FW 2.06 to try jumping to but MOL doesn't have it listed anymore. I've got 2.07...

Try upgrading to an intermediate version.
I have tried all 3 and get the same error but st different times during the process.

Firmware upgrade 7550

So I’m trying to update the firmware to the latest 2.09 on my 7550 and it gets to about 65% and errors out saying it can’t read/open a file. Any idea what is causing this or how to fix it?

Re: Weird Scan Issue

I think the Motorolas that I have programmed, I have generally used the toggle A-B-C to deal with scanning. Are you using the toggle switch or the side programmable button? Well I have tried it in two different locations. The emergency button and the top button on the side of the radio. People are ...

Weird scan issue

So I have some XTS-5000 model 1's setup to scan 3 conventional channels. A couple of things are happening and I can't figure out if its a setting I've missed or what. So when you turn scan off via the programmed button it will not let you enable scan again without turning the radio off and back on. ...

Windows 10 & Astro 25 CPS R20.01

I'm having an issue with getting Astro 25 to read of any of XTS's in Win 10. It pops up and says the radio is not detected via USB port. I've tried all 3 ports, and two different programming cables. Works fine in APX CPS and APX radios.

Anyone have any issues getting it to work? I'm running R7.00, in both Windows 7 Pro and XP Mode and both times it gets about half way through and hangs. If they are going to offer a trunking system for TRBO they should at least include this instead of the range bar, but that's just my opinion.

Connect Plus

Need some info on CP. I can't seem to find it online and I don't have the manual for connect plus. With TRBO, can you setup a button so that you can get a RSSI like you can with a SmartZone system? Doing some testing and it would be benefical to be able to see actually RSSI compared to the bars on t...

It was mentioned earlier in this thread and I'll bring it up again. What if this could be done with a TRBO capacity or even a Connect Plus system. What would be involved in doing this project? If we take out the muli-sites and say just do a single site. The way I understand TRBO working is it reside...

I have a 2008 Hemi Charger Police Package that I just had a Kenwood 7180, 8180 and Motorola XTL 2500 in 700/800 installed and not had a problem yet. The 7180 is VHF and no noise from the coil packs. I've ran the AC, heat, and rear defroster and no whine what so ever. I've heard that the 08's and abo...

Take it for what its worth, but from my research I was under the impression that you could do DHCP to the router, then set a static from the router to repeater and that would cover the issue.

Re: Quantar mixed mode problem

If you can't get the results you want with the solution xmo suggested, you're going to have to buy a DIU to do what you want. The up-side to this is that you can run digital into the Quantar and come out the link in analog and vice-versa, INCLUDING DTMF signaling in both analog and digital mode. Th...
