Had a problem Flashing the bios on a CDM1250 and its dead now. Was thinking that I could swap it out with one from a donor board that is not corrupted. Was wondering which IC performs the bios duty on a LDMOS 25watt mainboard.

Honestly unless you're a whiz with a soldering iron and have all the equipment needed to retune you are probably best off going the flat rate route. I'd bet you're looking at about $200 in parts and labor per radio at the local shop, for about $50 more you could send it in for a flat rate and Motor...

You are correct Jack the HT1250 wont decode, encode only, and escomm I did find out about the Ht 1550XLS too, so you too are right on with your info. MTR2000 can it be programed to SCAN?

Working with an MTR2000 base stn and was wondering if it is capable of scan? It has about 5 Cpi TR16F tone remotes tied to it. I did not see scan enable in program software anywhere, but maybe I do not have the correct software or add in card to get it to scan.

Ok, thanks. Performed work as recomended and its doing its thing. Actually doing a bit better with the solder connects than with the rubber carbon pad, getting 13+watts now instead of 10+watts. Calling it "good" till it bites it totally.

I just checked another (4) brand new CDM1250's and on three of them screw#1 was loose by 3turns easily and all other screws were 1/2 to 1turn to get them tight. The fourth one all six screws needed 1/2 to 1 turn to tighten them and I am not cranking these down tight, I really need a small torque wre...

Ok, so for grins I just checked a new radio and screw #1 was so loose it probably would havce fallen out if I had inverted the radio, the only reason it hadnt gone further was it was hitting the top wrap-around cover.

Wow! This simple fix repaired the problem with this radio and another one another customer brought in and complained about noisey TX. The screws on both these radios were not as loose as some I have seen in the past. in fact I would not realy have considered them "loose" but they obviously...

Will, thank you for the responce. However, i'm going to set it up as a Bi-Directional repeater and set hang time to 0sec. It still works poorly in that config, but I lack certain skills and dont wish to try to correct something that I think M dropped the ball on.
