Use the pinout from http://www.batlabs.com/images/1550svc.gif... Speaker is obvious, as is Mic. I think PTT is Opt Sel 2 (pin 5), and there's probably a pin looped back somewhere in the plug to allow the radio to sense there's a speaker/mic attached.

I doubt you'll ever be able to add channels by editing the codeplug. Sundown can already manipulate the data going into the radio, and the radio gives an error when you try to change things like number of channels. It seems to be imbedded in the radio firmware. Todd Not quite... It appears that the...

By the way, the GP338LS is the asiapac version of the HT1250LS, so the information in the thread at http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?t=29079 might be useful

I don't think it's simply a pinout issue. MDC won't run over Astro (there's no need) as Astro has it's own signalling built into the protocol that covers all of the things the MDC feature sets cover. And they're two different beasts in terms of how they're modulated. My guess would be that there's n...

Is the radio successfully going into bootstrap mode? If so, does it come out of it by following the instructions given? What baud rate are you selecting? I would recommend the lowest at this stage, especially if you're using clone equipment. What RIBs have you tried? Are they all clone RIBs, or genu...

CDM750 MDC sanity check
Can someone who has a CDM750 please confirm the following for me? 1) Under an MDC system, is "Radio Check Decode" grayed out? 2) Despite this, will it decode Radio Check regardless? (I think some other features that are grayed out still actually work, so yes this is a valid question :) ) I...

Not true. DPS here in TX runs duplex, unless they turn the repeater on (which they usually only do during an operation, a chase, etc.) If you want a chance at hearing the mobile side, you'll need to program that into your radio as a second channel. How does everyone other than the dispatcher hear t...

MDC feature set list per radio model
OK... Here's my attempt at documenting the MDC feature sets per radio, as it seems that most of the radios have a splattering of each. At this time I'll use two list sets (one by feature and one by radio model) and probably edit later tonight and turn into a table if possible. Please add any feature...

Re: Thanks to everyone
Thank you all for your help, as you all assured me the DOS time was the problem. I disabled DOS since we are not using mdc-1200 at this time. The radio is working much better. Once again, Thanks Hey?? I don't believe this makes sense for HT and CDM series.. For DOS to be active on a personality, yo...

Re: ahhh, i know what he's talking about....
dude, first of all, the out of band info that you're talking about is only gonna work on a GP300 (hence the GP300.EXE), the out of bandstuff is model specific, and your model isn't the one you looked up...RTFP. Dude, that's harsh... Especially as if you go to Batlabs, click on the Model Specific In...

Re: What's the trick to flash-upgrading HT- series radio?
Nope... no smartrib required. What's it doing that makes you think it isn't working?Josh wrote:I still haven't figured it out.
I've got the radios, I've got the updates, but it's still a no-go. I ge the radios into bootstrap mode, I made the dongle w/switch.
Does it require a Smart-rib?

The CDM1550 will decode non-trunking MDC emergency. But do you want it to? The CDM will also generate the Emergency ACK packet (normally a good thing) if you program it to decode emergency, which means that if you have more than one device decoding emergency, there will be lots of ACKs flying around...

Nice work!! How did you end up figuring out where they were stored? :) And yes... from what I've noticed as well, the CPS for all regions is the same, just with various flags around the place. This means in theory, yes you can read/write an asiapac radio with american CPS and still be able to read/w...
