Use the pinout from http://www.batlabs.com/images/1550svc.gif... Speaker is obvious, as is Mic. I think PTT is Opt Sel 2 (pin 5), and there's probably a pin looped back somewhere in the plug to allow the radio to sense there's a speaker/mic attached.

I would suggest this is not the case, and that the password is enforced by the CPS and not the radio :) But that's only a guess...

I doubt you'll ever be able to add channels by editing the codeplug. Sundown can already manipulate the data going into the radio, and the radio gives an error when you try to change things like number of channels. It seems to be imbedded in the radio firmware. You'll get some wildcards happening on a single digit... but you could have 15 radios go off to a call for CAFE to hit the coffee shop, or BEEF for burgers :)

Oh, and because you won't find it around page 1 or 2, instead of putting the IP address that is mentioned there, you need to put sipproxy.enterzone.net instead (UDP port 5060) :)

I'm farely sure that signalling squelch you're talking about in the GP300s was just Call Alert w/ Voice exclusively on the channel.

In the HT1550XLS, the equivalent should be setting Personality -> Signalling -> Signalling Squelch to "And".

The display version GP300 is the Select 5 version. Uses a different RSS, and according to a friend who has some and also the standard GP300s, the Select 5 RSS is a real nightmare.

Not true. DPS here in TX runs duplex, unless they turn the repeater on (which they usually only do during an operation, a chase, etc.) If you want a chance at hearing the mobile side, you'll need to program that into your radio as a second channel. Unfortunately the HT/CDM info page on Batlabs is currently in error. That info is in the wrong place, and so far there is no way to out of band the radios. That's being worked on by various people though.

Yup... had exactly the same thing. Battery still allowed what charge it had into the radio, but the charger didn't recognise that it had been inserted into it.

Solution was to buy a new battery

Sounds like the Option Board Enabled icon. Does it have one installed?

Check the codeplug to see if in Radio Configuration the option board installed is enabled, and disable if you don't have a board in the radio :)

With the XTS3000s, emergency decode only appears to work for trunking systems. I suspect that the spectra at least, and probably the MCS will be the same.

The CDM1550 will decode non-trunking MDC emergency. But do you want it to? The CDM will also generate the Emergency ACK packet (normally a good thing) if you program it to decode emergency, which means that if you have more than one device decoding emergency, there will be lots of ACKs flying around...
