XPR4500 Control Head Swap
I have an XPR4500 that was damaged, the volume control took a hit to be exact, and is a bit loose and wobbly now. I have another with a perfect control head I'd like to swap in, but I'm not sure how to disconnect it from the flexible flat cable header. How do you get the cable out of the header? It ...

Re: XPR4xxx Mobile Rear Accessory Connector
The Motorola part number is PMLN5072. I think they're usually under US$10 if you want to experiment. An ignition sense cable is pretty easy (add pin 25 to a switched power).

XPR4xxx Mobile Rear Accessory Connector
Has anyone sourced the mating connector from a secondary supplier, like Digikey or Newark? It looks like a common 26-pin Amp or similar. I have a project that needs a prototype adapter built.
Thanks!

Re: XPR6500 Side Accessory Connector
This was exactly what I needed -- THANKS!
We have headsets cables with the accessory connector on one end, and a 5-pin Switchcraft connector on the other. I just needed to determine which pins were speaker +/- to make a batch of mono earplug adapters.

XPR6500 Side Accessory Connector
Anyone have the pinout for this handy? I looked in the model specific section and didn't see it listed. The reference CD that comes with the radios didn't have any information about it either. I need to build a listen only earplug adapter.
Thanks in advance.

XPR6500 Refurb Kits?
Does anyone know if there are refurb kits available for XPR6500s yet? I have one that got a little warm momentarily, and it shows it cosmetically, but still works fine. A refurb kit, antenna, and a new battery would make it good.
Thanks
Thanks

Side Connectors for HT750/HT1250
I'd like modify the headset cables for the HT750 and HT1250 radios we have to eliminate the two prong cable/side accessory connector combination that seems to be a weak link in the chain.
Does anyone have a source for the direct screw-on side connectors for these?
Thanks in advance.

I need to build a harness for a GP350 radio right now. I remember using a transformer for the mic, which I have found in here in the hardware archives (PICO-A1025 M27/174-01), but I can't find a schematic for the harness itself and i've slept many moons since. Anyone have a clue on how to wire this ...

Update
I ended up getting the WPNN4037A batteries from Motorola direct. What a difference!!
Not only do they hold up to the heat, but the radio performance has actually improved a great deal. IMHO, they are worth every dime.
Thanks again for all of your help guys.

Frequency Coordination Woes
I'm trying to register for a dozen frequencies in the 450-470 MHz band at 11 different locations around the country. All the transmitters are low power handhelds.
I've been trying to use ITA-Relay for frequency coordination for the past two months, but it's been very difficult to get any response ...

I found the WPNN4037A. Searched the net, and found at least a dozen places that listed it; None really carried it, but had one "just as good for much cheaper" (reminded me of those "motor oil is motor oil" commercials).

Thanks for the reply
I was wondering if there was an actual physical difference in the two, or if it was like the $6,000 toilet seat; Higher cost due to all the testing/certification paperwork, but the same exact product.

WPNN4037A
WPNN4013A
Both are rated at 2000 mAh. The WPNN4037A has all the safety approvals, but is it really any different than the WPNN4013?
Anyone had these apart, or have experience with the 4037 being more heat resistant?
Thanks in advance!

Many places have the leads for the VISAR with these connectors attached, but does anyone seel just the connector?

Multi-conductor cable with individual spiral shield
I have seen this cable before but have no idea where to find it. It has four conductors, each of them are individually shielded (not paired), and the jacket is really tough. I believe the primary use is in intercom systems on fire trucks and in similar heavy-duty mission critical applications ...

Wait a minute...I thought you were unable to read the radios with the RSS...how is it reporting the model/serial numbers to you? I tried again this morning with a 486 DX4 with the identical results. VISAR/HT1000 programming errors
When I read the codeplug from either a VISAR or an HT1000, I get an immediate "Invalid model, customer, or serial number". And if I try to send the exact same codeplug back, I get an "Incompatible model number" error.
